Superads now supports Google Ads as a full data source, covering all major campaign types. This article explains how to connect your account and what to do if something doesn't look right after connecting.
What campaign types are supported?
Superads supports all major Google Ads campaign types:
Campaign type | What you can analyse in Superads |
YouTube / Video | Campaign, ad group and ad-level performance, viewing thumbnail and ad preview, and all relevant metrics. |
Search | Campaign, ad group and ad-level performance. |
Display | Campaign, ad group and ad-level performance. |
Performance Max (PMax) | Asset group and overall campaign performance. |
โน๏ธ Note: Google Ads spend is not yet counted toward your Superads billing tier. Only Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok spend is included in the current pricing calculation. This will change as soon as the integration is no longer in Beta. |
How to connect your Google Ads account
1 | Go to Settings > Data Sources You'll find this in the left navigation menu of your workspace. |
2 | Click 'Add account' under Google Ads |
3 | Sign in with your Google account A Google authorization popup will appear. Sign in with the Google account that has access to the Google Ads accounts you want to connect. |
4 | Select the ad accounts to connect You'll see a list of Google Ads accounts your Google profile has access to. Select the ones you want to add. |
5 | Click Connect Superads will begin syncing your data. |
6 | Wait for the initial sync Your most recent campaigns will appear within about 30 minutes. Full history typically completes within 24 hours. |
๐ก Tip: If you manage multiple Google Ads accounts, you can select all of them in step 4. You can also add more accounts later by repeating this process. |
Connecting a Manager Account (MCC)
If you use a Google Ads Manager Account (MCC) to manage multiple client accounts, you can connect at the MCC level. Superads will list all the individual accounts under your MCC, and you can select which ones to connect.
What to expect after connecting
Initial sync
After connecting, Superads starts pulling your full Google Ads history in the background. Within about 30 minutes you should see the last two weeks of data. The complete history typically takes up to 24 hours, depending on how much data is in your account.
A note on the Starter Board
The template reports included in the Starter Board were designed for paid social (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok). They may not work well out of the box for Google Ads. For example, 'Group by: Ad Name' is a common grouping in those templates, but most Google Ads formats do not have an ad name, so those reports will show 'None' instead of meaningful creative data.
If you connected Google Ads as your only channel and signed up after March 2026, you will get a set of Starter Board templates built specifically for Google. If you connected multiple channels or signed up before March 2026, your existing Starter Board templates are likely set up for paid social and will need some adjustment for Google.
๐ก Tip: For Google Ads, we recommend editing your existing reports or creating new ones from scratch. You can also use Superads AI to help you build reports tailored to your Google campaigns. |
Troubleshooting: common issues
Symptom | What to do |
Connected but no data showing | The initial sync may still be running. Wait up to 30 minutes for the last two weeks of data to appear, or check Settings > Data Sources for the sync status. Also make sure you're not filtering your report to a platform that doesn't match. |
Only YouTube campaigns are showing | Search, Display, Shopping and PMax campaigns sync separately. Check the sync status in Settings > Data Sources. If those campaign types are missing after 24 hours, trigger a manual resync or contact support. |
Some ad accounts are missing from the list | Your Google account may not have access to those accounts, or they may sit under a different MCC. Confirm access in Google Ads and try reconnecting. |
YouTube videos are not showing thumbnails | Thumbnail issues can occur if the video was recently uploaded or if the creative ID changed. Try a Full History Sync from Settings > Data Sources. |
Data looks different from Google Ads | Superads syncs data once per day, so today's spend will not yet appear. When comparing, use a date range that excludes today. Small discrepancies on partial days are normal. See the data discrepancy article for a full explanation. |
Connection error or auth expired | Go to Settings > Data Sources and click the reconnect button next to the affected account. Sign in with the same Google account used during setup. |
โ ๏ธ Important: If your Google Ads data is still missing after 24 hours, reach out via the in-app chat with your workspace name and Google Ads account ID. Our team can check the sync status directly. |
