Navigating the report interface

A quick guide to the report view in Superads — data controls, groupings, metrics, view modes, and sharing.

Updated over a month ago

Every report in Superads is built around a similar interface. Once you know the controls, you can build and customize any report in a few clicks. This guide walks you through each part.

The report view at a glance

A report is built around a set of controls running across the top, with your data view below. Here's what each element does:

Element

What it does

Account(s) selector

Choose which ad account(s) the report pulls data from. You can include multiple accounts in a single report (Pro).

Date range selector

Set the time period for your data — use a preset (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, etc.) or define a custom date range.

Filters

Narrow the data shown in the report by campaign, ad set, objective, or other dimensions. Filters apply before metrics and breakdowns are calculated.

Group By selector(s)

Choose how to group your data — by ad, campaign, ad set, custom breakdown, AI tags, and more. Add multiple groupings for nested analysis.

Metrics bar

The metrics currently shown in the report. Add, remove, or reorder them. Use the Sort by dropdown on the right to rank rows by any metric.

Chart settings

Configure the chart view — choose chart type, select which metrics to plot, and adjust display options.

Chart / table toggle

Switch between Gallery (visual card view), Table, and Chart — or combine views.

Choosing your data source and date range

Account selector

Click the account name in the top-left to switch or add ad accounts. On the Pro plan you can select multiple ad accounts in a single report — useful for cross-account overviews or agency clients with several accounts.

Date range

Click the date picker to choose your analysis window. You can use preset ranges (last 7 days, last 30 days, this month, etc.) or set a custom range. You can also enable the comparison toggle to benchmark the selected period against a previous one — Superads matches by day of week so you're comparing like-for-like.

ℹ️ Note: Free plan: up to 30 days of data. Pro plan: up to 12 months. If you need data beyond your plan's range, you'll need to upgrade.

Filtering your data

Click 'Add filter' to narrow down what's shown in the report. You can filter by any dimension (campaign, ad type, placement, etc.) or by metric values. Filters apply to the entire report and stack — so you can combine multiple filters to get very specific cuts of your data.

Groupings and breakdowns

The Group by selector controls how your ads are organized. This is the core of how you analyze data in Superads.

Channel breakdowns

Group by ad name, creative (matches the same asset across different ad names), campaign name, ad set name, ad type, landing page, copy, headline, CTA, and much more. These pull directly from your ad platforms.

Custom breakdowns

Group by rules you define yourself based on your naming conventions — for example, grouping by content creator or campaign type embedded in your ad names. Available on all plans. You can also let the AI suggest groups based on patterns it detects in your naming conventions.

AI tagging (Pro)

Superads uses AI to scan the actual content of your ads — visuals, copy, video — and automatically tags them across dimensions like creative style, value proposition, emotion, and more. No naming conventions needed. These are called AI Creative Breakdowns and are available on Pro plans.

Multiple breakdowns

Click '+ Add breakdown' to stack multiple groupings in a single report. For example, grouping by headline and copy together surfaces the best-performing creative combinations without needing separate reports.

💡 Tip: You can combine any breakdown types — standard, custom, and AI — in the same report.

Metrics and Superads Scores

Adding and removing metrics

Click '+ Add metric' to browse and add any metric available in your connected ad accounts — standard metrics (spend, impressions, CTR, ROAS), custom conversions, and more. Click the × on any metric chip to remove it. Drag chips to reorder them.

Superads Scores

Hook Score, Hold Score, Click Score, Engagement Score, and Conversion Score are available as metrics in any report. They appear as color-coded progress bars (green / yellow / red) alongside the numeric score, making it easy to spot winners and underperformers at a glance. Scores are available for Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts. Hook and Hold scores apply to video ads only.

ℹ️ Note: Custom metric formulas are not currently supported, but Superads includes a wide library of standard and conversion metrics. Custom conversions from Meta are automatically imported.

Chart view vs Table view

Chart view

Use any of the 5 chart styles we support. You can click any element for further analysis. Typically best for creative analysis — you can see the actual ad alongside its performance, on Gallery Chart. Click any thumbnail to preview the full creative (video plays inline).

Table view

A traditional data table with one row per group. Better for scanning many items, exporting, or comparing across a large number of metrics. You can show both Gallery and Table at the same time using the layout toggle.

Sorting

Use the 'Sort by' dropdown (top right of the metrics bar) to sort the view by any metric — spend, clicks, a specific score, or any other column.

Deep-diving into an ad, campaign or any group

Click on any row in the table, on any card in the gallery chart, or on any item, across any type of chart, to open a focused view of that item.

From there you can see a detailed metric breakdown, change the date range for that specific item, add more metrics, or modify the breakdown — all without leaving the report.

Opening an ad preview

Clicking on any ad thumbnail (available when grouping by ad name or creative or from the deep-dive view) will open a preview of the ad with details of its performance

In Gallery view, clicking the thumbnail opens a full creative preview — video plays directly, images display at full size. Performance metrics for that creative are shown alongside.

Sharing, exporting, and other actions

Publishing (all plans)

Click the Publish button in the top right to generate a unique shareable URL. Anyone with the link can view a live, interactive version of the report — no Superads account needed. They can change the date range, click into ads, and watch creatives. The link always reflects the latest data.

Superads AI

Click 'Ask AI' to open the Superads AI research agent. Ask questions about your ad account in plain English and get back a structured report with findings, tables, and charts — all grounded in your actual data.

Three-dot menu

The … menu in the top right gives you options to duplicate, rename, or export the report. Exporting (PDF, CSV, or Excel) is available on Pro plans.
